History
Horton is a small hamlet with a moated farmhouse at Horton Hall, likely on the manorial site. Two 16th-century timber-framed cottages survive—one formerly the King's Head inn. Equestrian breeding was a feature in the 20th century under Norman Shand-Kydd at the adjoining farm. Though tiny, Horton preserves layers from Tudor building to Georgian remodelling around its manor and roadside cottages.
